ابراہیم علیہ السلام

Story — English

Born in Ur (Iraq), raised in a polytheist family where his father Azar carved idols. As a youth he questioned the idols, stars, moon, and sun — rejecting each when they set or proved powerless. He smashed the idols of his people, was thrown into a fire by Nimrod — the fire was made cool and safe for him. He left his homeland, traveled to multiple lands. He took his wife Hajar and infant son Ismail to the barren valley of Makkah and left them by Allah’s command. The well of Zamzam appeared. Later commanded to sacrifice his son Ismail — both submitted, and Allah ransomed Ismail with a great sacrifice. He built the Kaaba with Ismail and made the famous dua for his descendants. His whole life was a series of tests, all of which he passed. Allah called him ‘Khalilullah’ — His close friend.

بت تراش باپ کے گھر پیدا ہوئے، ستاروں، چاند، سورج کو رب نہ مانا۔ بت توڑے، نمرود نے آگ میں پھینکا — آگ ٹھنڈی ہو گئی۔ ہاجرہ اور اسماعیل کو مکہ میں چھوڑا۔ زمزم ظاہر ہوا۔ اسماعیل کو ذبح کا حکم — دونوں نے سر تسلیم خم کیا، اللہ نے دنبہ بھیجا۔ کعبہ تعمیر کی۔ خلیل اللہ کا لقب ملا۔
