Story — English

The most complete human story in the Quran — the entire Surah Yusuf is his story, called ‘the best of stories’ (12:3). Thrown into a well by jealous brothers. Sold as a slave in Egypt. Bought by a noble household. Seduced by his master’s wife (Zulaikha) — he chose prison over sin. In prison, interpreted dreams. Eventually brought before the king to interpret the royal dream. Appointed minister of Egypt’s treasury. Reunited with his brothers — who came begging for food — and finally with his father Yaqub. His response to his brothers’ betrayal: ‘No blame on you today’ (12:92). At the pinnacle of power, his prayer was to die as a Muslim and be with the righteous (12:101).

کنویں میں پھینکے گئے بھائیوں نے۔ غلام بنا کر مصر بھیجے گئے۔ زلیخا نے بہکانا چاہا — جیل قبول کی گناہ نہ کیا۔ خواب کی تعبیر سے وزیر بنے۔ بھائی فاقہ سے آئے — ‘آج تم پر کوئی ملامت نہیں’ (12:92)۔ اقتدار کی بلندی پر دعا کی: مسلمان مروں اور صالحین میں شامل کرو (12:101)۔
