Dawud (David) — دَاوُود

Reason: Prophet and king; erred once but repented immediately and deeply; Allah forgave and praised him (38:25)
Story — English
Prophet and king of Israel. Killed the giant Jalut (Goliath) as a young man. Taught the language of birds and was given wisdom and sound judgment. Allah softened iron for him so he could make armor. The mountains and birds joined him in glorifying Allah. He was given the Zabur (Psalms). He erred in a matter of judgment regarding a woman (married her after her husband was sent to battle) — when two angels came in the form of litigants and he gave an unjust verdict, he realized the parable was about himself, fell prostrate, and wept. Allah forgave him and made him a khalifah on earth, warning him not to follow desire.

نبی اور بادشاہ۔ جالوت کو قتل کیا۔ پرندوں اور پہاڑوں کی تسبیح ساتھ ہوتی۔ زبور دی گئی۔ ایک معاملے میں غلطی کی، فوراً سجدے میں گر کر روئے، اللہ نے معاف کر کے زمین پر خلیفہ بنایا اور خواہش کی پیروی سے بچنے کا حکم دیا (38:26)۔
