Al-Mutakabbir is the One whose greatness is absolute — He alone has the right to this attribute. When a human exhibits kibr (arrogance), it is a sin because they are claiming a quality that belongs only to Allah. A hadith qudsi states: ‘Pride is My cloak and Greatness is My garment — whoever contests Me in either, I will punish.‘
