Al-Jabbar has a dual beauty: the One who compels all things to His will, AND the One who repairs what is broken — the same root gives ‘jabira’ (a splint that sets broken bones). Human tyrants are ‘jabbar’ in a negative sense; Allah’s jabr is the compulsion that restores justice and heals the broken-hearted.
