Reason: The only companion named by name in the Quran (33:37); his adoption was dissolved by divine command to establish a legal ruling
Story — English
The freed slave and adopted son of the Prophet ﷺ. The only companion mentioned by name in the Quran. When he divorced his wife Zaynab bint Jahsh, Allah commanded the Prophet ﷺ to marry her — to establish that adoption does not create biological son status, and that a man may marry his adopted son’s ex-wife. The Prophet had hidden the command out of fear of people’s reaction — Allah addressed this in 33:37. A profound lesson about following divine command despite social pressure.

نبی ﷺ کے آزاد کردہ غلام اور متبنیٰ بیٹے — قرآن میں نام سے ذکر ہونے والے واحد صحابی (33:37)۔ اپنی بیوی کو طلاق دی تو اللہ نے نبی کو اس سے نکاح کا حکم دیا — متبنیٰ کا رشتہ ختم کرنے کی شرعی وضاحت کے لیے۔
