Reason: The tyrants who dug the trench (deviated — destroyed); the believers thrown in (straight — martyred and in Jannah)
Story — English
Rulers who dug a trench, filled it with fire, and burned alive believers who refused to renounce their faith. The Quran condemns the persecutors and says they are in the punishment of the burning fire (85:10). The believers who were thrown in and died are implied to be in Jannah — ‘the companions of Paradise’ (85:11). The story is referenced as one of the gravest crimes against believers. Their only crime was that they believed in Allah the Mighty, the Praiseworthy (85:8).

آگ کی خندق کھودنے والوں نے ایمان والوں کو زندہ جلایا۔ ایمان والوں کا قصور صرف یہ تھا کہ وہ اللہ پر ایمان لائے تھے (85:8)۔ ظالم آگ کے عذاب میں، شہید جنت میں۔
