Story — English
The closest companion of the Prophet ﷺ and his father-in-law. The Quran references him in 9:40 during the Hijra: hiding in the cave of Thawr with the Prophet, he was afraid — ‘Do not grieve; indeed Allah is with us.’ He is believed by scholars to be referenced in 92:17-21 as ‘the one who gives his wealth for purification, not expecting any favor in return, only seeking the pleasure of his Lord the Most High.’ The first adult male to embrace Islam. The Prophet’s closest companion. First Caliph after the Prophet’s death.
